AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, womens services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you'll contribute:
Under general supervision, the Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse performs sterile diagnostic, radiographic (IR), endovascular and non-vascular interventional radiographic procedures. Performs a wide range of skills, which are utilized during a variety of Interventional Radiology procedures to provide efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse is proficient in preparation, assessment, documentation, sedation and monitoring consistent with Hospital policies and procedures. Takes call as rotated/assigned and responds (in hospital) within 30 minutes. Provides safe care and processing of patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Clinical Competence: Performs diagnostic, radiographic (IR), therapeutic endovascular and non-vascular interventional radiographic procedures. Utilizes the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages (Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatrics).
The knowledge and skills are acquired through formal training, Inservice, continuing education and/or experience. Willing to learn/adapt to new technologies, clinical best practice, and protocols. Addresses patient needs, questions, and anxieties related to Interventional Radiology procedures.
Personal Productivity and Accountability: Assists healthcare team. Handles various job tasks simultaneously. Performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in an Interventional Radiology lab based on the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Guidelines.
Works to improve productivity by maintaining IR Suite ready status by preparing the suite and equipment for the next procedure. Takes call as rotated/assigned and responds (in hospital) within 30 minutes. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Data Processing, Image Quality and Documentation: Utilizes proper positioning criteria. Ensures study has correct patient demographics for post processing. Inputs procedural charges into the computer system.
Department Meeting Attendance: Attends department meetings consistently and promotes positive dialogue with respect to department objectives. Listens and is responsible for understanding all agenda items.
Exam Supervision and Administration: Assists physician with sterile procedures, anticipates their needs and is knowledgeable of all necessary equipment and supplies. Ensures aseptic techniques are observed. Removes sheaths and holds arterial pressure until hemostasis. Utilizes two patient identifiers to confirm patient/exam accuracy before administering exam.
Performance Improvement: Participates in quality improvement initiatives while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Participates in the department Glint and patient satisfaction initiatives. Utilizes patient service recovery resources when appropriate. Helps to develop the knowledge and competency of co-workers and students.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Graduate of a school of Nursing.
Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.
BCLS - Basic Life Support.
ACLS.
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
