The role you’ll contribute:
The Executive Director of AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI) leads inpatient and outpatient programs related to complex end-stage organ failure and organ transplant services. Partners with the Vice President on the strategic planning and visioning for expanding domains of care, including new or changing programs and services, outreach, driving innovation through technology and information systems, elevating clinical performance through outcomes monitoring, and stewardship that transforms transplant care delivery and partners with clinicians and industry to formulate new and innovative approaches to transplant care. This leader is directly responsible for administrative, regulatory and fiscal oversight of all complex organ diseases related to and including solid organ transplant programs adult and pediatric and practices (kidney, kidney/pancreas, liver, heart, lung) and mechanical circulatory support programs (ECMO, VAD, etc.). Responsible for leading complex disease/multi-Transplant Physician/Surgeon Practices; Advanced Hepatology Outpatient Clinic; Advanced Heart Failure, Advanced Lung Failure, Transplant Center Outpatient Clinic; Marketing and Public Relations; MIS/IT/Quality/Data; and complex organ disease/transplant programs. Works closely with the medical leadership regarding patient services including delivery of services, state of relevant technology and equipment, revenue generation, reimbursement changes, managed care contracting requirements, budget and all other related administrative matters. Establishes, maintains, and builds effective working relationships with physicians, direct reports, external customers and clients, and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal agencies, accrediting bodies and regulatory bodies to include (OPTN, UNOS, Joint Commission, DNV, CMS)

•Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth and success of AHTI.
•Utilize financial data to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses and identify the implications for potential strategies, keeping a financial perspective in the forefront when making strategic decisions.
•Maintain accountability for fiscal management of areas of responsibility
•Apply cost containment principles while endeavoring to create new or improved methods of revenue generation and/or models of care.
EXECUTE AND DRIVE PERFORMANCE:
•Provides the development of physician practices to fully integrate care and drive a value-based model.
•Measures of success result in clinical, financial and market outcomes that demonstrate value to patients, physicians, and payers
•Evaluates patient care, operational efficiencies, performance methods and employee issues and makes recommendations.
•This position is responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise for the complex organ disease and organ transplant medical/surgery service line resulting in high quality outcomes and effective performance
•Support Clinical Performance Improvement activities and contribute to the organization improvement.
•Translate strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
•Secure and compare information from multiple sources to identify business issues, committing to an action after weighing alternative solutions against important decision criteria.

•Provide proper attention to development coaching to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities and prepare for succession planning.

•Ensure that each organ-specific program meets UNOS staffing standards by position type between dedicated and shared staff.

•Initiate, promote and/or participate in interdisciplinary collaboration regarding patient care.
LEADING THROUGH VISION AND VALUES:

•Ensure that the customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities; crafting and implementing service practices that meet customers' and own organization's needs.
•Support, promote and participate in community service activities.
•Coordinates and serves as the administrative liaison between AHTI other AHO Institutes to assure alignment in strategies to maintain continuity of care across CFD and minimize leakage. Collaborates on projects and programs including marketing and philanthropy and any other activities with complex organ disease and organ transplant medical/surgery in nature.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Nursing Administration, or Nursing Sciences is highly preferred.
•Minimum of ten (10) years of diverse experience within solid organ transplant or other relative service line, with a minimum of five (5) of those years of experience in solid organ transplant program growth and development in a “Transplant Administrator” (or like-titled) role.
•Extensive experience with regulatory requirements specific to solid organ transplant programs including UNOS Bylaws and CMS Conditions of Participation (CoP’s).
•Minimum of seven (7) years in progressively responsible administrative work or directorship of multiple departments in a hospital or hospital system.
•Extensive experience working closely with physicians and proven ability to gain trust and credibility.
•Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills •Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
•Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Nursing Administration, or Nursing Sciences is highly preferred
