Summary
This Section Chief will lead and give oversight to the General and Preventative Cardiology Section. The Section Chief will develop, guide, manage, implement, monitor and enforce the clinical, administrative, educational and research activities of the Section to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality delivery of patient care services. Contribution to the mission of the Division and a commitment to the development of faculty, staff and fellow will also be important to this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Position Highlights:
In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to include faculty and staff, this position will define the vision and goals for the section
Identify and assume responsibility for cost effective systems needed to support the section while considering the budget and resources available and business trends
Define the standards of quality necessary for services offered and related work and establish systems to support compliance with those quality standards
Collaborate with other cardiology specialists and cardiovascular surgeons to manage out-patient and in-patient patients with complex multisystem disease in a comprehensive and highly effective manner;
Develop/improve in- and out-patient care systems and the quality standards and direct care.
Serve as attending physician on hospital service and demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and treating cardiac patients
Opportunity for academic and clinical research and to educate medical residents and fellows
Oversee staff, employee development, job performance and conduct performance evaluation.
Prepare regular performance reports.
Contribute to the education of residents, students and staff.
Education/Qualification
Candidate must possess a MD/DO degree
Achieve or eligible for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor
Managerial and/or leadership experience
Certificates/Licenses
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Board certified in Cardiology
Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
Eligible for licensure in New Jersey
