Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists in inpatient settings to support the cardiac surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities will include endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting during coronary artery bypass surgery and serve as a first assist throughout all cardiac surgery procedures. Candidate must have a national Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
Schedule requirements are five shifts per week with rotating on call, night and weekend coverage, as needed. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

In addition to a large general cardiology practice, the Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute includes all relevant sub-specialties including electrophysiology, preventative and interventional cardiology, vascular, congenital heart disease, imaging, and genetics. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, a 232-bed freestanding facility and part of the Memorial Healthcare System, has an established and highly recognized pediatric heart transplant program. The MCVI performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward County and has an active VAD and Adult Heart Transplant program since 2014. Memorial has the first accredited adult congenital heart program in the State of Florida and is the only ELSO Gold designated ECMO program in South Florida.
