Location: AdventHealth Redmond
The Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for provision/supervision of respiratory clinical care responsibilities to age specific groups. Must adhere to AdventHealth Compliance plan. Follows all regulations and rules governed by all accrediting bodies. Possess outstanding customer service and provides quality care.
Certified Respiratory Therapist:
- Are a part of front-line patient care team, working in all areas of the hospital.
- Initiate, operate, manage and discontinue pulmonary life support equipment.
- Possess critical thinking skills.
- Able to evaluate patients to work closely with physicians to help modify the plan of care for:
- Patients receiving ventilatory life support and oxygen therapy
- Patients receiving aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene therapy, and lung expansion therapy
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSURE and EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and modify the plan of care
- Ability to ensure infection control
- Effective communication skills, including documentation in the patient care record. Ability to use and adapt to computer systems and applications.
- Ability to provide optimal respiratory support including administration of oxygen, administration of inhaled medications, lung expansion, and bronchial hygiene therapy
- Ability to appropriately initiate, operate, manage, and liberate non-invasive and invasive modes of mechanical ventilation.
- Ability to perform and analyze ABGs
- Knowledge to care for all age categories
- Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Current Georgia License
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within 1 year of hire.
