PRMO Established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. Occ Summary
Coordinate an d participate in a varietyofduties associated withdaily clinic preparati on process, patient identification, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointmentscheduling. Position also involv es customer service, messagedistribution, ancillary scheduling and prepa ration and referralsmanagement.
Work Performed
Prepa re for clinic visits byreviewingnext day patients andcompleting next day preparation activities.Enterpre-visit orders andprepare newpatient char ts. Pick up X-rays, officecharts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash an d collections bag. Filehistory sheets,ancillary reports and all other re quired patient recorddocumentation.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/ Medicare documents totheencounter forms.Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Identifycorrect patientinformation in Maestro Care. Veri fy patient demographicdata. EditMaestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate accountfor patient visit. Present and educate patien ts on required formsandobtain signature as required by policy and proced ure. Completes allMaestro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collectandpost co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprin t all patientspecificchart documents and requisition/transmittal documen ts. Copy,file and distribute insurance cards as indicated byprocedure.Co ordinate all labs/procedures as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts.Prepareencounter forms. Investigate and account for missing e ncounterforms. Auditencounter forms for completeness and accuracy before batching. Batchesencounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Sched ule tests and procedures. Complete and distributeancillary service requi sitions.Explainbillingto patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies. Determinethe amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-outpatients. Make return appointments by scheduling patients into thecorrect appointment type, entering the primary care physician o rreferring physicianand scheduling tests and procedures.Answer telephone , take anddelivermessages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtain ed medical information from patients and referringphysiciansaccurately, completely and timely. Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communi cation standards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Str ong verbal and written communication. Basic PC and data entryskills. Kno wledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.Demonstrated abili ty to organize andprioritize work, provide oral andwritten instructions, interact tactfully with customers and establishand maintain effective r elationshipswith others. Must be able to applyspecific departmental poli cies rulesand regulations relating toverifying patient information, coll ecting paymentsandmaintainingrecords and forms.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education
Experience
