Overview
Baylor Scott & White Health is looking for a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN). Ideal candidate must have critical care RN experience. The Cath Lab RN is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee
Unit Summary
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock Cardiac Catherization Lab values high collaboration and team-work within the department at forefront. We offer low RN to patient ratio (1:1 intraprocedural, 1:2 or 3 pre and post procedure based on acuity), dedicated charge RN, high physician collaboration, and a focus on work/life balance. Our department has 2 labs and 6 pre/post/holding beds, with expansion planned for an additional lab within two years. The Cardiac Procedural area covers pre, post and intra-procedure for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, structural heart, peripheral vascular procedures, electrophysiology and non-invasive cardiology.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION - Grad of Accred Prog or Eqival - MAJOR - Nursing - EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience - CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Nurse (RN) ACLS (ACLS): Must have both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
