Medical Instrument Technician (EKG)
The Medical Instrument Technician (EKG) will function independently in operating and monitoring electrocardiographic equipment for continuous telemetry rhythm evaluation and interpretation. They will monitor the continuous cardiac rhythms under the direction of the RN and medical providers. They are responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms and identifying lethal arrhythmias 24hrs/day, and immediately notifying RN. The Medical Instrument Technician (EKG) position is assigned to Patient Care Svcs Nursing Services of the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System. The purpose of this position is to provide support to staff by monitoring cardiac rhythms. Duties include, but are not limited to: Prints and interprets all elements of telemetry rhythm strip and informs nursing staf
