This position is located in the Intensive Care Unit of the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, WV. Major Duties: The incumbent works closely with physicians and other staff to provide medical treatment and personal care services to all Veterans. Duties include, but not limited to: documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive care outcomes; providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems; and accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standard and functional statements of the assigned grade. The RN must demonstrate the ability to make critical decisions and trouble shoot patient care equipment. The RN must be ACLS certified and be able to respond to life threatening arrhythmias and emergency events effectively, and operate and monitor specialized equipment. Serves as a responsible member of the nursing team and interacts with patients, family members, professional and other supportive personnel. Relates effectively, cooperatively, and professionally with all co-workers. Work Schedule: Night shift- Six 12 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift (per two week pay period), weekends and holidays, but subject to change based on facility and service needs.
