Registered Nurse - Cardiac Device (1.0 FTE, Days) at the Providence Heart Clinic located at the Oregon Clinic Building in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Work with a dynamic cohesive team to provide care to 2600+ Pacemaker, ICD and Implantable Loop Recorder patients either in-clinic or via remote transmission. The team consists of two RN's and five Device Technologists that support three Electrophysiologists, two EP Nurse Practitioners, eleven General Cardiologists, two Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologists, two Advanced Heart Failure Nurse Practitioners, four Interventional Cardiologists and six Advanced Practice Practitioners. The team also works with the Heart Rhythm Clinic at Providence St. Vincent, collaborating on workflows and cross covering when needed.
Provide direct quality care for cardiac patients in an out-patient setting.
Provide care according to the individualized needs of the patient using the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Be responsible for the assessment, treatment of care of patients including adult and geriatric.
Be competent to analyze patient data with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial, spiritual, and chronological maturation process.
Accept professional development as an integral part of nursing practice.
Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship.
Triage and assess patients in clinic and via the telephone.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current state of Oregon RN licensure and graduation from an accredited school of nursing
3 years of direct patient care experience
1 year of clinical experience in triage principles of patient assessment
Experience in delegation of nursing responsibilities to licensed and unlicensed personnel within the medical office setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) -or- advanced degree in Nursing -or- Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Arts (BA), or advanced degree in related field
Certified Cardiac Device Specialist Certification
3-5 years in an outpatient cardiac device clinic
1-3 years experience with EMR systems
1-3 years experience with a Device Database
Previous third party vendor interaction
