The Echo Tech Per Diem Float DMC Detroit staff will work out of multiple DMC facilities. Facilities include DMC Childrenï¿½s, DMC Harper University/Hutzel Womenï¿½s, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai, DMC Receiving, DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, DMC Sinai-Grace, DMC University Laboratories.

Employees must be willing to work across all DMC and Tenet facilities in their respective market.
Employees are required to work a minimum of two (2) total shifts per month, one (1) weekend shift per month, and one (1) holiday per year, (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
Under direct supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, operates electrocardiograph (ECG) machines, scans Holtï¿½r monitors and administers appropriate test including routine and 24 hour electrocardiograms to obtain valid and reliable data for physician interpretation. Provides practical training to new personnel.
Performs all duties of ECG Technician I. Performs 12 lead. ECGs, Holter monitor connects and disconnects and Holter scanning, obtaining high quality diagnostic results. Scans Holter monitors, attentively monitoring oscilloscope, counting PVCs, recording significant arrhythmias or other abnormalities and selectively printing out required tracings; immediately alerts physician to any emergent or significant azrhythmias identified during examination. Ensures timely generation of final Holter report for Cardiologist interpretation; makes any necessary corrections and processes reports. Cleans equipment daily periodically demagnetizes scanner ensuring all ECG and Holter equipment as functioning properly Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports unso1ved malfunctions to manager. Assists in exercise stress testing as needed. May assist cardiologist and technical personnel during exercise testing by monitoring ECG rhythm and. rate; communicates significant arrhythmias or mophologic changes to physician. Performs routine clerical, duties including 1ogging charging, generating requisitions, financials, answering phones and scheduling appointments. May assist in editing ECG and Holter reports as needed. Participates actively in department Continuous improvement and Quality Assurance programs. Assists in code situations as directed by physician in charge. Maintains competence in current ECG, Halter techniques and arrhythmia recognition. Provides for care and safety of patients undergoing examination. Assists in training and cross-training of personnel. Demonstrates knowledge arid skills necessary to provide care- appropriate, to die age of the patients serviced, on assigned unit. (Demonstrated knowledge includes principles of growth and development over each patientï¿½s life span.) Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of each patientï¿½s status and interprets appropriate information needed to identify each patientï¿½s age-specific requirements. Provides the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Six to twelve months experience in performance of ECGï¿½s, DCGï¿½S. and high Speed scanning.
CCT or equivalent preferred.
BCLS certification required. (ACLS required to assist in Exercise Stress Testing.)
