The EP Remote Monitoring Clinic Coordinator RN will work closely with the Electrophysiology team in the management and coordination of care of patients with EP devices. This will include:
Manages staff of four remote device technicians, including productivity, work quality, training and scheduling.
Serves as clinical leader on enterprise-wide implementation of remote device monitoring platforms and Epic integration efforts
Ensures timely, accurate and complete billing of remote device services.
Develops work flows, staffing analyses and operational enhancements for the remote device office.
Ensures timely, consistent patient follow-up for remote device downloads, and device activation and testing,
Primary liaison for remote device office with remote device vendors for inventory management, report reconciliations, patient activations, and other issues as they arise.
Reviewing and documenting on all remote transmissions of pacemaker and ICD devices and implantable loop recorders, per policy and provide triage care as needed in coordination with EP physician.
Instruct patients on use of remote monitoring technologies.
Provide telephonic support/care of EP device patients as needed along with appropriate patient and physician follow up.
Triage and documentation of daily remote monitoring alerts for pacemakers, ICDs & ILRs.
Represents HUP EP program on the Penn Health system Arrhythmia Disease Team.
All of the above is supervised by the electrophysiologist who reviews and signs all procedure and documentation notes.
Performs nursing functions as required within the DOM outpatient practice. Provides care for patients in all adult age groups from young adult to geriatrics, including assessment and management of the patients. Works closely with all members of the practice.
The RN is expected to promote organizational values of patient and visitor satisfaction by demonstrating courtesy and respect for patients and their families, visitors and other employees. Must demonstrate competence in the care of patients served.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
BSN degree required.
CPR and ACLS certification required.
Minimum of 2 –3 years of nursing experience and EP experience required.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:30 through 5:00pm. Hours may be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the department.
