The UI Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a full-time (100%), Nurse Clinician to function as a clinical expert and care coordinator for EP Device patients while collaborating with physicians, patients/families, UIHC staff and health care agencies. Responsible for in-person and remote device checks, providing education and follow up care to patients undergoing diagnostic and surgical procedures, and maintaining open channels of communication with health care units involved in the care of cardiac implantation patients.

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
Minimum 1 year clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring.
Demonstrated competency in interrogation/reprogramming pacemakers and ICDs.
Competence in in-person and remote monitoring of single, dual and CRT pacing systems, implanted cardiac defibrillators and implanted loop recorders.
Ability to positively and effectively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Current certification in BLS required by start date.
Current certification in ACLS required by start date.
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.
3 – 5 years clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring.
Experience in an academic medical setting.
Previous experience using EPIC.
Current RCES, CCDS or CEPS certification.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and practices.
