The Device Department is currently seeking a Device Specialist. This department works closely with highly skilled staff, electrophysiologists and cardiologists to manage cardiac device needs. Potential growth opportunities of this position include cross training as a Heart Failure Specialist. If you have a strong knowledge base in rhythm recognition, cardiology and implantable cardiac devices, this may be an ideal position for you!
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge and management of various processes related to implantable ICD’s, pacemakers, loop recorders and CRT/ICM cardiac devices
Proficient in the use of St Jude, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Biotronik and ELA programmers
Management of remote device checks, alerts and patient enrollment, equipment requests utilizing Merlin, Latitude, Carelink and Biotronik websites
Review, documentation and summarization of all acquired device information to be sent to provider for review
Effective collaboration and communication with departmental and interdepartmental team members, company representatives and providers
Knowledge and compliance of organizational and device manufacturer guidelines
Knowledge and utilization of the NextGen EHR system
Patient education and communication
Assist with departmental processes to ensure patient and process compliance
May be selected to cross train in duties of a Heart Failure specialist
Continuing education of job related duties
Ability to meet job specific competencies at 90 days and annually
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED
Advanced medical assistant or related experience and/or certification required
Experience with implantable cardiac devices required
ACLS upon hire preferred. Certification required for position
Strong background in ECG rhythm identification required
Must be able to type at least 40 wpm
This position requires weekly travel to interoffice TCC device clinics located at our Baywood, Dobson and Gilbert offices. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
